We’re very sorry to hear that the great Cynthia Weil has left us. She and her husband Barry Mann were not only one of the most prominent writing teams of the ‘Brill Building’ era, but also amongst our earliest guests on the show (episode 6 to be exact).

Cynthia was so bubbly and charming and her encouraging words to us as we wrapped the interview provided a much needed confidence boost for a couple of podcasting greenhorns still finding their feet. What’s more, she and Barry evidently still revelled in eachother’s company just as much as when they were young lovebirds cranking out stone cold classics by the score at 1650 Broadway. Beautiful to see.
