While Billy’s role in our own story is a significant one, the impact his catalogue has had on the lives of millions is simply off the scale. During the intro to that flagship episode, we remarked that, if you were to turn on a radio anywhere in the world, there’s a good chance Billy had a hand in the first song you’ll hear. That remains as true now, in 2026, as it was then.

It takes a special song to last that kind of distance, and a special songwriter to bring it into being.
